šŸ„€ Chapter 4šŸ„€

In the hall, the hosts bid bye to the young men. Sara then looked at Edward who took Abhishekā€™s permission to talk to Sara in private.

In the front porch

ā€œā€¦Saraā€¦would you like to go on date with meā€¦you knowā€¦just coffeeā€¦ā€ Edward pocketed his pants biting his lips. Taylor was shaking his head at the shy boy who was falling head over heels for the Indian beauty. He just horned the car to wake him up and signalled him to move a little forward. But Edward just ignored him and went back to Sara for her precious reply.

Sara nodded her head with a little blush on her chubby cheeks, wanting Edward to kiss her. But he thought to not, as it would be not appropriate at their first meet.

Sara then bid bye to the boys who rushed out in their car. As she was about to go inside the house, she saw a hooded figure across the road.

She tried to recognise the person, but saw that the figure was huffing badly. As she moved down the stairsā€¦

ā€œā€¦Sara, Honey come insideā€¦its coldā€¦ā€ Abhishek came outside the front porch and held her shoulders smiling at her.

ā€œā€¦Jijuā€¦there is someone ā€¦over here?!ā€¦ā€ Sara tried to show him the black hooded figure who had suddenly disappeared from its current position.

Sara looked around but couldnā€™t find the person, whom she saw for the first time in their premises.

Abhishek saw the concern and a little fear in her eyes, telling her to move inside wherein he will scan the area.

ā€œJiminā€¦where are you?...I told you to not leave your position?!!ā€ Abhishek instructed the person on the phone who mumbled replying

ā€œā€¦I am sorry, Sirā€¦I had gone for some coffee, near the streetā€¦is something wrong?ā€¦ā€ Jimin become alert at the tensed voice of his employer, who told him to scan the area and report back to him asap.

Abhishek then glanced through the area for one last time and went inside, reminding himself to call up his trustee to strengthen the security near his mansion.

Mumbai

Hardik kept the call getting tensed at the info given to him. He glanced at Sanya who was sleeping peacefully after the visit to the doctor.

He caressed her hair who moved softly clutching his hands. Hardik teared up remembering her who had the same aura as Sanya. Caring and selfless who sacrificed herself for her love.

He thought to have his dinner and sleep off his sad thoughts to freshen up for tomorrowā€™s trial of assistant for his stubborn brother ā€“ VC Mr. Harish.

The next day

Sara went to the Veteran Generalā€™s house to deliver the photo that she had promised to give.

The old manā€™s wife opened the door and welcomed the young lady inside their humble home.

As Sara was drinking her coffee, she asked for the old man who seemed to be gardening in the backyard of the house.

As she approached the backyard, she saw an array of seasonal vegetables being grown by the old couple.

ā€œā€¦wow! This is so cuteā€¦ā€ The veteran looked over the young lady who praised his gardening skills and went back to his chores.

Sara saw that the old man was still angry at her mistake of ruining his photo. So, she thought to give him his newly developed photo along with a small gift. A leather wallet.

As the veteran saw the wallet, his frown turned into a smile on knowing the kind gesture of the humble child.

He got up from his squatted position and took the wallet in his gloved hands, smiling at the young lady who was happy that the old man was able to melt at her small gift.

ā€œā€¦my lady, why this? you could have just handed over the photosā€¦there was no need for this wallet, dear?ā€Ā  The veteran expressed his gratitude that she was kind enough to come to his house and hand over the photos.

ā€œā€¦no, Sir. It was my mistake to ruin your photos the first time. Please donā€™t refuse my gift. I bought it for my happiness. I just couldnā€™t see you sadā€¦ā€ Sara was really sorry for destroying the photo. But luckily she was able to develop another photo with the negative she had saved.

Just like that Sara was able to become friends with the old lonely couple who were glad to have a child to enquire about them, unlike their own blood who had abandoned them in their old age.

The university

Sara was getting her books from the library to work on her case file for her assignments.

Ring! Ring!

She signed the register and ran outside to receive the call from her Jiju.

ā€œā€¦yeah Jiju?!!...ā€ Sara was suddenly worried for her sister who had complained of a stomach pain last night. But it turned out to be just her gastric issue which she had developed with eating spicy foods during her pregnancy.

The doctor had advised her to avoid the spicy foods for the issue. But being an Indian she was dreading the soups and lentil filled plain foods, making her sneak out on her favourite thali from an Indian restaurant nearby to her office.

Abhishek then told Sara about visiting his office to help him out with the recent case file.

Abhishek was helping out Sara to score brownie points for her academics by being her external supervisor for her project work.

Her professor had assigned the attorney Abhishek for her as the mentor with special requisition from the dean itself, who was the close friend of the Naik family.

It was hence pivotal for Sara to rush from university to Abhishekā€™s firm which was quite nearby to her university.

Abhishek Law Firm

ā€œā€¦so, we can move forward with the John case for the alteration being found in the recent file being send by the client himselfā€¦ā€ Abhishek was discussing with Edward to note down the new revelations in the case that they were dealing with at present.

Edward then mailed the file to Abhishek who said to work on the Masood file which had been sent in the morning.

As Abhishek took the phone from Rashmi he heard his office door open, welcoming the fresh and radiant Sara (as pictured by Edward).

She saw that her Jiju was busy with the call. So, she relaxed on the couch waiting for him, not sensing the presence of a certain Edward who was stuck on her simple attire.

ā€œā€¦okā€¦babyā€¦donā€™t wait for me, tonightā€¦I have a meeting with the officialsā€¦Sara will be there alongwith Ashleyā€¦bye, honeyā€¦ā€ Abhishek then came inside the cabin to find Sara reading the magazines on the table.

ā€œā€¦when did you come, sweetie?!ā€¦.ā€ Saying so, Abhishek hugged his baby Sara who chuckled at his brotherly warmth.

Sara then told him that she had started to study the recent case file and found it to be fascinating.

The trio ā€“ Abhishek, Sara and Edward sat together to work on the file.

The case file:

Jacob was the servant of the Macintosh family. One of the most prestigious British family residing in the far end of the city.

The Macintosh family were from the royal lineage who had long stayed in the city for three generations.

The family of grandparents, parents and three children were happily staying in the mansion.

The three children ā€“ Ruth ā€“ 12-year-old, Robin ā€“ 15-year-old and Robert ā€“ 21-year-old were governed by Jacob and his wife for over the time each one of them were born. The children were quite close to their caretaker than their own parents who were busy in the world of business.

As any day, the children were having their dinner minus the parents and grandparents who had suddenly flown to England to attend a family function.

The parents were still in office when the incident happened.

At around midnight, Robert who had awakened to have his glass of water; found his water bottle to be empty, which was so unlike. As the maids were privy to look after the minute details of their master and mistress.

As Robert walked towards the kitchen to fill his bottle, the switch of the corridor didnā€™t turn on. So, he moved slowly towards the refrigerator to get some cold water to avoid any bruises from the impact on kitchen counter or doors.

The next morning, the maid who had come to make the breakfast in the kitchen found the dead body of Jacob the head servant being stabbed on the chest lying beside the refrigerator.

The children and other servants were questioned along with the parents who had reached the mansion only after 2am in the morning.

They were in shock to get the news of their oldest loyal servant being murdered; even with the other people being present in the mansion including Jacobā€™s wife and other servants.

Jacobā€™s wife was called for questioning who was still in shock with the sudden murder of her husband who had no enemies.

The forensic study showed the imprints of only Robert near the refrigerator and the kitchen counter. But there was also a suspicious finger prints of an unidentified male on the front exit door huge doorknob who was not a part of the Macintosh family or servants and maids.

Sara suggested a detective from the firm who would do his side of the investigation than depending on the evidences being send by the officials.

Edward too agreed with the idea which made Abhishek to call his friends in the station to appoint their detective.

Edward was getting ready to have his lunch with Taylor and his fiancƩ who had called him to join.

ā€œā€¦Jiju I will leaveā€¦I have to meet Ashley in her hotelā€¦we have shopping to doā€¦ā€ As Sara moved to the exit door, Abhishek asked her about her lunch plan.

ā€œā€¦umā€¦I will have some sandwich I guessā€¦bye thenā€¦ā€ as Sara clutched the door handle to leave.

ā€œā€¦um would you like to have some Chineseā€¦I mean we were going to try the new one which is opened near the parkā€¦ā€ Edward suggested looking at Abhishek who quite acknowledged his invite.

Sara bit her lips to contemplate but she was hungry as hell for missing her breakfast with just a glass of milk.

As the duo reached the restaurant in Edwardā€™s bike, Sara saw the restaurant which was quite familiar to her knowledge.

Sara noticed the menu board in front of the restaurant with a known personā€™s face being printed on it, reminding on the particular worldwide handsome friend of her Ashleyā€™s.

ā€œā€¦heyā€¦I know this oneā€¦this Ashleyā€™s friends restaurantā€¦the Jin Kitchenā€¦but wait a minute?!!ā€¦he is a Koreanā€¦how come he opened a Chinese oneā€¦odd?!!ā€ Sara rubbed her chin trying to decode the confusion of her friendā€™s friends blunder.

Edward shrugged saying that he was fine as long as the food was good. Sara chuckled at his remark which was quite genuine when it came to food.

Sara was a big foodie thanks to her aspiring chef Ashley. Ashley would at times try her recipes in her apartment, inviting the girls for a slumber night.

The girls loved her art of cooking, waiting for the next invite.
